Daddy Owl was so excited and I’m pretty sure he got a little teary eyed (but don’t tell him I told you that). According to BabyCenter when your baby says dada, they aren’t identifying dad yet, they’re just training to communicate. Owlet has been babbling and making sounds for the past four months or so, and she’s now starting to make a bit of sense when she “talks”. Owlet is about 8 months old now so she’s on the early end of the scale for her babbles to start making a little bit of sense to us, instead of being confusing nonsense. At thirteen to eighteen months babies will say a word or two and understand what they mean. By around twenty months old baby will say (but maybe not fully understand) fifty to seventy words. It’s fascinating how quickly they develop!
